Healing with the Yawanawá
December 6-13, 2024 | Itaipava – Rio De Janerio, Brazil

Amazonian spirituality and cosmology.

This four night, five day, experience is anchored with conscious breathwork journeys and expansive workshops, and supported by additional modalities, designed to explore the depths and healing of your soul.  We will learn to connect more deeply with our inner truth, beyond the conditioning and stories we identify with.  All while in community, with a curated flow of activities, and with plenty of time to relax in the tropical surroundings.

We are returning to a beautiful, family owned, eco resort that we will have exclusively for our retreat. Located on 1.5 hectares of land in the Quintana Roo jungle, this lush respite features an on-site chef (all local and fresh), daily housekeeping, a rooftop yoga space, temezcal, and a pool. The rooms all have AC, private bathrooms, and cozy bedding. Stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi, and take advantage of the nature to unplug and connect more deeply with your soul. Ten minutes from Akumal and fifteen minutes from Tulum, only a five minute drive to the last protected beach of the Riviera, and walking distance to multiple cenotes (fresh water caverns).

The Yawanawá is an indigenous nation that belongs to the Pano linguistic family, which include the Masses, Katakana, Poyanawa, Huni Kuin, and Shipibo peoples, to name a few. Yawanawá refers to "the people of the wild boar" , specifically the white-lipped peccary, which symbolically represents their people, as they are always together in a group, like a sounder of boars. While Yawanawá territory includes a demarcation of nearly half a million acres of the Amazonian rainforest, most of the population (roughly 1,000 people) live in 9 tribal villages situated along the Gregório River, in the state of Acre Brazil. Together with the support of their allies, the Yawanawá continue to work tirelessly to further a model of sustainability that allows them to protect their ancestral territories, strengthen their cultural and spiritual identity, and engage with the outside world on their own terms.
