Healing & Ancestral Connection in Northern Peru

In the birthplace of ancient civilizations (i.e., Huaca Prieta, Chavin, Moche, Chimú, Chachapoya, Inca), where pyramids touch the sky and the desert is still filled with secrets, the spirit of Huachuma (San Pedro) has guided seekers for thousands of years. There is evidence suggesting that the sacred use of this cactus goes back to 6,000 BCE, and it played prominent role for the Chavin.

With the protection of our ancestors and the palpable energy of stone temples, we will share this journey together to awaken the wisdom that lives within each one of us. Among sacred pyramids, a millennial tree, and the temples of priestesses, this immersive retreat combines conscious breathwork and three huachuma ceremonies, each held in places of profound ancestral energy. Together, we will walk in the footsteps of the ancient civilizations, protected by the wisdom of the land and the spirit of the medicine. This is more than a retreat - it’s an initiation into deeper layers of yourself, your lineage, your breath, and the rich history of Peru’s north coast.

The Ceremonial Journey

Túcume Pyramids - one of the world's largest archaeological complexes. Among 26 pyramids, we’ll honor the ancestors who built these sacred temples and open ourselves to their wisdom.

Pomac Forest & The Millennial Tree - in an ancient dry forest, we’ll connect with a 500 year old algarrobo tree, revered as a living elder, connecting deeply to Pachamama.

El Brujo Archaeological Complex & Magdalena de Cao - a powerful site where the Lady of Cao, a Moche priestess and leader, was discovered. We'll honor the divine feminine, ancestral wisdom, and the cycles of death and rebirth.

This retreat takes place in Northern Peru, a region rich in history, tradition, and living culture. The north remains less traveled, which means the experience is more raw, authentic, and deeply connected to the people and the land.

In place of luxury, you will find true hospitality, delectable Peruvian food, archaeological wonders, and the warmth of people who have maintained their traditions for generations.

The Hosts

I, Claudia Nanino, am a master breathwork facilitator, crystal curator, and an explorer of non-ordinary states of consciousness. I've led thousands of breathwork journeys and never cease to be amazed by the power of this modality and the type of people it attracts: fellow seekers and self healers (you). I've been deeply focused on healing my heart and am eager to share the knowledge and practices that have benefitted me, including master plant teachers such as Huachuma.

I'm honored to partner with Maestro Martin, whose family served as caretakers for the Chavin temple for generations. He was born and lived in the temple until he was 26, and now carries forward the wisdom and traditions he learned from his grandmother. I feel honored to work with him, learn from him, and support his family and work.

Huachuma (San Pedro), is a heart-opening plant medicine traditionally used in the Andes and known to cultivate connection, compassion, and clarity. By softening the boundaries of your thinking mind, it allows for deep emotional healing, the release of old patterns, and an expanded sense of self. My experience with this psychedelic medicine is that it also deeply reconnects us with nature and a undeniable sense of oneness. It is incredibly beautiful.

The Invitation

Time/Place

When: Afternoon of Saturday January 2, 2026 to the morning of Friday January 9, 2026 (8 days, 7 nights total).

Fly in and out of Chiclayo, Peru. All transporation provided once in Chiclayo.

Detailed itinerary (subject to change)

Day 1: Arrive in Chiclayo Airport where you will be picked up by shuttle. Check into hotel, followed by a group dinner.

Day 2: Ceremony in the Túcume Pyramids. Dinner is included.

Day 3: Visit the Royal Tombs museum of Lord of Sipan. Breathwork. Rest.

Day 4: Ceremony in the Pomac Forest & the Millennial Tree. Dinner is included.

Day 5: Shopping at the Brujo market in Chiclayo and then travel to Trujillo. Breathwork. Rest.

Day 6: Ceremony at El Brujo Archaeological Complex & Magdalena de Cao. Dinner is included.

Day 7: Visit Chan Chan and Huaca of the Moon. Final breathwork. Rest.

Day 8: Depart Trujillo. From there, you can return to Lima by plane to catch your international flight.

Accommodations

Accommodations are simple, but comfortable. What we may lack in amenities, we more than make up for in authenticity, intimacy, and the rare experience of being welcomed into a place still connected to ancestral traditions.

Single Occupancy in family owned hotels vetted by Martin. Double occupancy available on request, for the same price per person.

If you're new to retreats with me, I ask that you schedule a call here, so we can ensure this is the right journey for you.
All transportation is included from Chiclayo to Trujillo. Please arrive on the LatAm flight LA2274 on January 2nd, 2026. I am flying to Lima on 1/1, spending the night in Lima and then flying to Chiclayo in the morning. Please plan to depart Trujillo to Lima on the LatAm flight LA2228 departing at 1:35 PM on January 9th, 2026.
Dinner is included after each ceremony - 3 total. If you have specific dietary needs or severe intolerances, please check in with me before registering. All other meals are not included.

I will provide a separate contract / waiver that requires your signature to confirm your booking.
Custom payment plans available. Use "PAYPLANPERU" to submit a $1000 deposit and I'll create a recurring invoice for the balance. Prefer it to be be paid in full by 12/15/25, but can consider alternative plans and sliding scale. Please email me to discuss.
Cancellation policy:
- Cancellations made within 30+ days notice will receive a credit worth 50% of retreat and accommodation costs paid applicable towards any of my offerings. Cancellations made with 30 or less days notice, will receive no refund or credit.
